There are three things I look for in a soap; one smell, two the squeaky clean feel and three hypoallergenic, good for sensitive skin.
First, the smell…I’m particular about the smell of any product. When I see the glycolic soap for the first time, the first thing I did was to smell it. It smells like oatmeal, which is good for me. You don’t want to smell like papaya and have the world know that you want to have a lighter complexion. That’s a no no for me.
Second, the squeaky clean feel…A soap’s job is to clean you up. I don’t expect anything less. However, most soaps that promise whitening don’t feel like soap. When you use them, they’re not bubbly enough and you won’t feel clean enough. But Opulence is different. It has that bubbly feel and you will have that squeaky clean feel after bathing.
Last but not the least, hypoallergenic and good for sensitive skin…I’ve tried many products but only a few work for my face. Many make me red and have breakouts. So usually I get so fearful when using products. Whenever it feels itchy or sore, I stop using the product. But in using Opulence, yes there’s that itchy feel. The good thing is I don’t have breakouts. Then I realize I’m losing the whole point. It’s supposed to whiten and peel so it should feel that way. Haha.
PS. What I love about Opulence glycolic soap is it’s peeling you up in a way that it’s not obvious. I only notice that I’m peeling whenever I apply my day cream. Your dead skin will peel in the form of libag, except it’s white. Haha!
If you’re the type who doesn’t want peeling but likes to have a lighter complexion, go with the black charcoal detox soap. It does the trick minus the itchy and the peeling feel.
