Busy, Stressed, and Tired?
Feel like you don’t have enough time in the day to squeeze in self-care?
It's always nice to take a breather from the hustle and bustle of your day and do some self-care.
Self-care is an important part of mental health. Self-care can be anything from taking your vitamins to meditating, and it's the little things that count.
“Self-Care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you.” - Katie Reed
Here are 7 easy ways that you can do to make sure you're treating yourself right:
- Take a moment to be mindful and enjoy the silence.
Meditation has been around for thousands of years, but it's never been more popular than it is right now. It's not just a trend or fad—it's a practice that can help you feel more relaxed, focused and at ease with yourself and the world around you.
Do you ever find yourself feeling anxious? Maybe you're worried about something in the future or wishing something had gone differently in the past. Maybe you've been feeling down lately or just can't seem to get things done as efficiently as usual. Maybe you've got a lot going on at work and home, or maybe your mind is just buzzing with too many thoughts at once. Whatever the case may be, meditation can help!
Here are some tips for getting started:
Turn off your phone and put down your laptop or tablets. Direct your attention inward for a few minutes each day as you breathe deeply, become mindful, and calm yourself down. Clear your thoughts and pay attention to your breathing. Start meditating for 15-30 minutes a day and you'll feel the difference almost immediately!
- Get some sleep.
We're all about looking and feeling your best, so we want to make sure you're getting enough sleep to help!
Getting enough shut-eye is crucial for keeping your immune system strong, increasing your body's ability to burn fat, and helping you look and feel healthier overall. But if you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, don't worry—we've got your back!
We asked the experts what they do when they have trouble sleeping, and they gave us these tips:
- Keep your room as dark and cool as possible. Darkness helps our bodies produce melatonin, which helps us fall asleep. A cool room helps us stay asleep by making us feel comfortable and relaxed.
- Avoid caffeine after 2 pm (or even earlier if possible). Caffeine can keep you awake by increasing alertness and adrenaline levels in the body at night, which can make it harder for you to fall asleep or stay asleep through the night. If you do drink coffee during the day, make sure to limit yourself to one cup per day or less (and definitely no more than two cups).
- Avoid alcohol before bedtime—it can disrupt sleep patterns by preventing deep sleep stages from taking place properly!
- Drink some water.
There are so many benefits to drinking water, we can't even list them all here. But we'll give you a few: it helps you digest food, flush out toxins, and keeps your skin and hair healthy. Plus, water helps you feel full more easily so that you eat less at meals (which can help with weight loss). And if that wasn't enough... it also keeps your skin looking youthful! The best part about drinking water is that there's no downside—it doesn't cost anything or require any work on your part (though finding time in our busy schedules may be an issue).
- Add an extra step to your skincare regimen.
It's not uncommon for people to forget about the importance of self-care. As a result, their skin can suffer from dryness and irritation. If you want to prevent these issues from happening, it's important that you add an extra step to your skincare regimen.
To do this, consider using one or more of the following products:
- Opulence MultiActive Darkspot Solution - It’s never too early or too late to take good care of your skin! Our OPULENCE MULTIACTIVE DARK SPOT SOLUTION targets all dark spots, acne marks and age spots, so you can have a radiant and even skin tone.
- Opulence MultiActive Exfo Cream - This cream optimizes your skincare routine, providing fast-acting exfoliation while improving the appearance of deep wrinkles and fine lines.
- Say something nice about yourself every day.
The great thing about this tip is that it’s easy to do. Start by making a list of your best qualities and the things that you like most about yourself. Then, each day, pick one item on your list and say something nice to yourself about it.
For example, if you love having long hair but aren’t sure how much longer it should be or what color would look best (or if you want short hair but don’t know where or how to get started), start by saying something simple like: “I love my hair because…” Then go from there! You can even add a few more items onto this list as well so that you have plenty of options for each day—and remember: don’t forget those compliments on the small stuff! If something as simple as your smile makes your day or helps boost self-confidence in any way, tell yourself so!
- Write down something you’re grateful for at the end of every day in a gratitude journal (or just type it in your Notes app).
A gratitude journal is a simple way to help you appreciate the good things in your life. It can also help with depression and anxiety since those are often caused by focusing on negative aspects of your life.
It’s easy to tell yourself that you should be grateful for something, but it’s much harder to actually believe it until you write it down. After all, writing down a positive experience helps reinforce that experience as something real—even if it can feel like an abstract concept at first!
- Take your vitamins!
You can't go wrong with getting in a multivitamin. They're easy to take, they keep you healthy and they help your body function properly. Whether you’re busy running between your kids and work, or on a vacation. Nothing will slow you down like being sick, so give your body the nutrients it needs to stay energized with this vitamin. Add this Opulence Nutrawhite Gluta Vit-C Plus Collagen & Hyaluronic Acid to your self-care routine - a must-have for anyone looking to feel better overall!
You deserve to take care of yourself!
As we go through our days, it's easy to forget how important it is to take care of ourselves. We might be busy at work, or with school, or caring for others—we put everyone else first and neglect ourselves. But this isn't healthy! You deserve to make time for yourself every day, even if that just means turning off your phone and getting dressed in the morning.
This list is just a few ideas that might work for you, but if they don’t, try some other suggestions until something clicks. And remember: nobody should be judging you on your self-care routine, even if it is different from theirs (or yours).
I hope you find these tips helpful because that’s the goal.
